On our way to a dog park in Paso Robles, CA we see an “A” frame sign pointing to the right indicating there was a bakery in the shopping plaza. On the way back we had to check out Cider Creek Bakery and Cafe. Sweet people working there and an array of many goodies. We bought several sweet rolls and cookies for later.
On a trip to the Central Coast we saw a large billboard advertising “Brown Butter Cookies”. Well, of course, they are made by the Brown Butter Cookie Company. We had to stop and see what this was all about. The link is from Yelp so you can see the photos and see what others think of this place in the very small village of Cayucos. Many different flavors. And you may sample any or all of them. Of course, I made a purchase. They cookies are rich so one at a time is perfect.
The next bakery I love is from Santa Cruz, CA. I purchased their goodies at the Morgan Hill, CA farmers market held on Saturdays. The bakery is Beckmann’s. Pie, focaccia pizzas, and cookies were my purchase choices. Again, I did a Yelp link so you can read reviews and see all the pictures of their beautiful items. (I didn’t take any pictures.) Someday we will make it to Santa Cruz to visit the bakery.
The last place is Josephine’s in Morgan Hill. Our daughter, Kim, told us it is a great place for breakfast. We went there for lunch with my sister, Joanne. Now Joanne is on the hunt for THE BEST cinnamon roll. Joanne declares it is now at the top of her list of being THE BEST. Josephine’s has one the size of a salad plate.
We eventually purchased two. Sorry the one in the picture is 1/4 eaten. We couldn’t wait. They were consumed on two different days and shared by Bryan and me. No Tucker did not get any. And again the link is to the Yelp site so you can drool some more. Josephine’s is a tiny place with two tables just outside the door in a courtyard plus about 6 or so tables inside. The food is yummy and the service spot on.
Yes, we like to eat. Yes, it isn’t always the healthiest. Yes, we look for places that are unique and perhaps regional. Yes, there will likely be more blogs about food.
Thanks for drooling along with us. More adventures to come.
